Lying in the heart of the Highlands, Glen Affric is an exceptionally beautiful wilderness of jagged mountains, narrow glens and steep corries. Cloaking the lower slopes of the glen is one of the finest remaining areas of Caledonian Pine Forest, which provides excellent shelter for the deer in winter.

Extending over some 10,000 acres, this is a famous deer forest and the lodge, which appears to be perched on an islet at the eastern end of Loch Affric, enjoys stunning views westward to the Five Sisters of Kintail.

The Lodge

Affric Lodge is rightfully regarded as one of the finest in Scotland. It provides exceptionally comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people, and has been interior designed and furnished to a very high standard.

Stalking

Glen Affric lends itself to the most exhilarating stalking amidst spectacular scenery, and the principal glens and corries all hold large numbers of hefted deer. Stalking can be arranged for two rifles and is mostly undertaken from the middle of August to the 20th October.

Trout fishing

Loch Affric is one of the few large natural lochs in this part of the Highlands and is renowned for the quality of its trout fishing.

Annual catches have regularly been in excess of 1,000 trout (occasionally up to 80 trout per rod per day) averaging about half a pound, although fish up to 7lbs have been caught. There is additional trout fishing on Loch Coulavie, which generally has a reputation for larger trout, and also on the Affric River. There is excellent salmon fishing available in the area, including the River Farrar, Glass and the Upper and Lower Beauly. Please enquire.
