Owned by the 13th Duke of Argyll the Castle is situated to the North West of Loch Fyne close to Inveraray. The Estate covers over 50,000 acres and incorporates some of the finest hill and woodland stalking available in the United Kingdom. There is excellent sea-trout fishing on the spate rivers Aray and Shira, along with brown trout fishing on 14 hill lochs. Sea fishing is also at hand in Loch Fyne. Duck flighting may be available, should guests wish to exercise this option.
The Lodge, which is only a short distance from the Castle, has a magical riverside setting, complemented by mature gardens and grounds and can accommodate 8 in comfort. A cook who serves superb, no fuss, traditional food can be arranged by appointment. Accommodation is not offered in the Castle, however dinner may be available by request, served in the 18th century dining and drawing rooms.
Other interests in Inveraray. Local 9 hole Golf Course, horse riding, tennis court and indoor swimming pool. Estate walks offering some of the finest views in Scotland and for the more energetic, Beinn Bhuidhe and other mountain ranges. Clay pigeon shooting can be arranged if required.
Lodge for 10. Goose Shooting, Snipe and Duck. Loch Fishing for Brown Trout. Shooting is available during the season on the beautiful Island of Tiree with Island House sleeping 10 comfortably. During the summer, there is wild brown trout fishing on the islands lochs. Beautiful beaches and clear blue seas also add to the enjoyment.
