Accommodation

The lodge is situated 8 miles up the glen from Ullapool in a peaceful setting amid the Caledonian pines of the Rhidorroch deer forest. Sleeping ten, the accommodation is comfortable, comprising four double and two single bedrooms, a dining room, morning room, large kitchen and gun room that has a wood burning stove. Shower in downstairs bathroom and shower, wc and whb in upstairs bathroom.

There is a billiard table and table tennis. The cottage nearby can be booked separately. This comprises two double bedrooms, sitting room, dining room and kitchen.

The 8 mile drive to the lodge is half tarmac and half gravel road, and a 4-wheel drive vehicle is advisable. Access to the lodge is via a footbridge over the Rhidorroch River and in low water conditions a 4-wheel drive vehicle can cross the ford.

The Fishings

The River Rappach, a tributary of the famous Oykel, provides some excellent salmon fly water for 2 rods, and given good water conditions fishes well from July onwards. There are numerous hill lochs within an hour's walking distance, together with a boat on Loch Achall. There is also a boat on Loch Damh which can be accessed by either 4-wheel drive or on foot.

Other Activities

This is a wonderful place for bird watching and hill walking and is surrounded by several Munros including Seana Braigh and An Teallach. From Ullapool there are regular boat trips to the Summer Isles. There is also a good selection of sea-food restaurants and shopping facilities in Ullapool, where there is a nine hole golf course, swimming pool and tennis court at the local sports centre.
