Built in the 1870’s, Feith Mhor is a charming substantial house taking its Gaelic name from its surroundings – “great stillness”.

Set amidst delightful gardens and grounds and enjoying marvellous views to the north east and west to the remote and barren Monadhliath hills, Feith Mhor lies in a quiet valley amidst unspoilt and peaceful surroundings.

Ground floor – entrance hall, drawing room, dining room and breakfast room, kitchen, w.c. and drying room, double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

First floor – 2 twin bedrooms with en-suite shower-rooms, 2 double/twin bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, 1 single bedroom with en-suite shower.

Kitchen – gas and electric cookers, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, tumble drier.

  • All bedrooms have en-suite facilities with private shower or bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, television and radio alarms.
  • All linen and towels provided.
  • Open fires and central heating.
  • Complimentary oil, electricity and fuel.
  • Dogs welcome and kennels available if required.
  • Large enclosed and well maintained garden.
  • Housekeeper available by separate negotiation.
  • Sunday to Sunday 4pm to 10am.

Activities

Each sporting week will include:

 

2 days grouse shooting, over pointers or walked up

2 days for up to 5 guns walking up with the estate keeper, shooting grouse over your own or the keeper’s dogs, or by arrangement, shooting over pointers with a maximum of 2 guns per point. Total bag limit of 10 brace for the week is included. It may be possible to buy more, subject to good grouse counts which are conducted at the end of July.

Roe buck stalking

3 early morning or late evening outings to stalk roe buck for one or two guests at a time. Novices welcomed and the estate keeper will be happy to give any instruction required.

Rabbit shooting

More fun than it sounds! Walking up rabbits in the heather, rushes and juniper bushes over your own or the keeper’s dogs.

Private trout loch with boat

An 8 acre loch with a good head of brown trout up to 2lbs; fly only, and fish from a boat, whose mooring place is a great picnic spot.

Falconry expeditions for grouse

If any of the party wish to join the estate’s afternoon falconry trips to see peregrines hunting for grouse, they would be most welcome.

Housekeeper (by arrangement)

The estate housekeeper is included for two hours a day to tidy the house, lay the fire etc. or if the party does not bring it’s own cook, to cook breakfast if required. Any more hours would need to be negotiated direct with the housekeeper. She is not be available to cook evening meals.

Golf and river fishing by arrangement

A 4 rod salmon and sea trout fishing beat on the River Spey nearby may be available by separate arrangement. See Kincardine Fishings
