The River Ewe is a classic highland river which runs for approximately 2 miles from the outflow of Loch Maree into the sea at Loch Ewe. It includes such famous pools as Top, Middle and Lower Narrows at the head of the river through Tee, Macordies, The Flats, The Hen, Cruives and Manse Pools and ending with the Sea Pool above the bridge in Poolewe. All the pools can be covered from the bank, or in thigh waders, and the necessity for chest waders is rare. There is a wide variety of fishing from the deep slow pools at the top of the river to the shallow faster pools below.

Fishing is available by the week for a maximum of 4 rods who rotate through the four beats on a daily basis. There is a full time ghillie to look after the fishing and advise on tactics, and provide some casting tuition if required.

There are steadily improving runs of Salmon and Seatrout on the Ewe/Maree system, and the numbers in 2007 were again encouraging.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available in the Manse, a substantial Georgian house overlooking the left bank of the river. It provides comfortable accommodation for up to 9 in one double, three twin and one single bedroom, and includes a sitting room with open fire, open plan kitchen, dining room, and separate tv room
