Lettings are Sunday to Sunday
The Kincardine beat of the River Spey is situated some 7 miles upstream of Grantown-on-Spey and comprises approximately 1 ¾ miles of right bank fishing. By agreement, there is a rotational arrangement with the Kinchurdy beat opposite whereby both beats are split into two, one party fishing both banks of the upper water in the morning, and the lower water in the afternoon. 5 year average 400 Sea trout and 95 Salmon.
The beat gives varied fishing for 4 rods, over 19 pools including the famous Kinchurdy pool, one of the great holding pools on the Spey. The first fish of the season usually appear in March, with spring fish moving up throughout April, May and June, to be supplemented by the grilse and summer salmon to the end of the season on 30th September. In addition to the salmon fishing, the Kincardine beat has always been famed for it's particularly fine sea trout fishing, with the Kinchurdy pool being a renowned night sea trout pool. There are two fishing huts on the beat and all fishing is by fly only. There is no ghillie, although the owner is available to show guests the beat at the beginning of each week. Accommodation Accommodation is available in a very well appointed wood built house overlooking the beat. The accommodation comprises four bedrooms one double en-suite, one twin en-suite, one further twin and one bunk room/twin, these latter two bedrooms sharing a bathroom. There is modern open plan living accommodation including a kitchen, dining and sitting area, with well appointed kitchen including electric cooker, dishwasher etc., and a sitting area, with log burning stove and TV, DVD and video. The fishings and accommodation provide a very comfortable fishing holiday destination, literally a stone's throw from the fishings. There is no need to drive on a public road whilst you are there. In addition, Upper Speyside is an ideal base for additional activities, including walking, distillery visits, and ten minutes drive from the Cairngorm ski slopes.
