Accommodation
Accommodation for guests comprises four doubles, two twin and two single bedrooms – maximum of fourteen guests. The master bedroom is en-suite with a further two bathrooms and one shower room. All bedrooms are on the first floor and have garden or river views.

Salmon and Trout Fishing
The Thurso river is said to be one of Scotland's top five salmon rivers to be managed as an entire river system. Geographically fortunate, its headwaters rise amongst the unspoilt upland moors of Caithness, flowing over a largely gravel bottom, the principal tributary's merge and flow into Loch More.

At the outlet of Loch More there is a dam and a fish ladder. The dam was built over a hundred years ago specifically with angling in mind, the dam permits the beats downstream to be maintained at an optimum fishing level through up to six weeks of drought.

Below Loch More the river flows first through moorland continuing in pools and streams down through farmland to its estuary at Thurso on the wild north Atlantic coast.

Salmon fishing is from 2nd January to 5th October, starting at £36.50 per day.

Shooting
Strathmore has been famous as a dogging grouse moor since the days of black powder. Walking up over English setters is available from 12th August-mid September at £600 per party per day (2 guns). In addition to the grouse, Strathmore offers a variety of rough shooting and duck and geese flighting. Flighting from £30 per gun/rough shooting £65 per gun (2 guns minimum).

Stalking
Mature red stags begin to arrive on the ground towards the end of September prior to the rut. The early days of the four week season provide challenging stalking in the open vastness of Caithness, but as the rut progresses, one can find oneself stalking "amongst the deer". From £250 per stag.

In addition to the red deer stalking, hinds and roe are available in season. Prices on application.

Strathmore welcomes all stalkers from total novices to the most experienced.
