
Tressady was one of the Duke of Sutherland's most beautiful Hunting Lodges. It has been fully restored recently and luxuriously finished with beautiful antiques. It offers guests the opportunity to experience traditional Highland hospitality on an exclusive basis.
Tressady House comfortably sleeps 12 to 13 people. It is fully equipped with a most luxurious kitchen, a beautiful Egyptian dining room, a large drawing room, TV/library room. Each bedroom has its own theme and each is en-suite. A chef and butler are available by prior arrangement. The house can be let fully staffed at additional cost.
Situated close to Sutherland's east coast, guests have access to sporting over 22,000 acres of the Tressady Estate with salmon and sea trout fishing on the rivers Brora and Fleet. The week normally begins Sunday afternoon and ends noon on the Saturday, but this is flexible in most circumstances.
Salmon and Sea Trout Fishing
Tressady has 5 miles of double bank fishing on the River Fleet, a small spate river with runs of salmon and sea trout from mid July until end of season October 30th. The run starts earlier if there is sufficient water May and June. Salmon fishing also available on 8 miles of the Upper Brora with several pools providing good fishing when conditions are favourable.
Driven Shooting
A limited number of partridge and pheasant days of 150 to 300 expected bags can be booked on the estate. The estate can shoot 2 days in the week.
Red Deer Stalking
Stalking is best from early September until 20th October. Stalking is for 2 rifles per day, normally on 5 days each week, accompanied by the Estate stalker and the possibility of an additional stalker for an additional rifle or two exists.
Roe Stalking
Roe Buck stalking is available for two months during April and May and in July during the rut. In the autumn, it can be combined with stag stalking.
Loch Fishing
Hill loch fishing for brown trout is available on 3 hill lochs. Yves Loch, within a few minutes' walk of the lodge, offers exciting fishing for trout.
Rough Shooting
Walked up shooting for Woodcock and flighted Duck available. Woodcock over pointers is exceptional. Every group last season killed 20-28 with 25 being average, 41 on the day was accomplished the previous season. As these are wild and migratory, it cannot be guaranteed but superb sport is the norm.
Clay Pigeon Shooting
A fully equipped Clay pigeon course is set up within the lodge grounds and shooting is available for guests under the supervision of the estate keeper.
Golf
For those who prefer to hit a ball rather than a moving target there is golf available on the many superb golf courses within 20 miles of Tressady. The famous Royal Dornoch is only 12 miles from the estate. Brora and Golspie have also links courses on the sea.
Hunting Lodge/Self Catered
There is a separate Hunting Lodge with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms available beautifully refurbished to a very high standard, ideal for smaller stalking, fishing, rough shooting and golfing parties.
